Membership & Break Policy

Last Updated: 3/21/2026

At Switch Society, we understand that your style, your life, and your wardrobe needs change.

Our goal is to support you in every season—whether you’re actively using your membership or stepping away and returning when you need a refresh.

This policy is designed to keep things simple, fair, and aligned with how our shared closet works.

1. Taking a Break (Canceling Your Membership)

You may cancel your membership at any time before your next billing date. Your membership will remain active through the end of your current billing period.

To cancel, please send an email to:
📧 cancellations@switchsociety.org

Please include:

  • Your full name
  • Email address associated with your account.

We also accept cancellations in-store, by phone, or text with this same information.

2. Membership Access After Your Break Begins

After you request a break:

  • Your membership remains active through your final paid date
  • You may continue shopping and using your points until that date

Your membership will end automatically at the close of your billing cycle.

3. Bag Drop Policy During a Break

To support processing capacity and maintain a healthy flow of inventory:

All bag drops must be completed before submitting your break request. If your membership remins inactive for an extended period (6 months or more), any unused points may expire.

4. Returning to Switch

You’re always welcome back.

When you're ready to return, you can choose the option that best fits how you want to participate:

  • Reactivate your membership and return to ongoing access
  • Join a shorter "refresh" or limited-time access option (when available)

A small reactivation fee may apply when returning after a break.

All returning members rejoin at current membership pricing.

6. Membership Philosophy

A Switch membership is designed to support a range of participation styles.

Some members visit weekly. Others return during times of transition or change. Your membership is not based on frequency—it’s based on access, flexibility, and participation in a shared system that keeps clothing in circulation and out of landfills.

7. Legacy Memberships

If you're currently on a legacy membership rate, you may keep that rate as long as your membership remains active.

If you choose to take a break, you may return at the current membership pricing.

8. Additional Notes

  • No refunds are provided for processed payments
  • Memberships remain active through the end of the billing period after a break is requested
  • Annual memberships remain active through the end of the annual term
